Between INDEPENDENCE and BIG PINE off Highway 395
you'll find one of the most beautiful campgrounds in California.
Take the ABERDEEN ROAD and go WEST, past a mobile home
park/store/restaurant/TELEPHONE and continue for about
two miles on a well maintained road to the campground.
It has 46 spaces, all with picnic tables and barbeques
or firerings. Some even have shade trees.
You'll find water faucets on the access roads to the sites,
but not on the sites proper.
WARNING: because the water is not tested on a regular basis
it is not recommended for human consumption.
Trash dumpsters can be found near the bulletin board by the
entrance where you can also find a collection box for your donations.
(A FEW BUCKS PER NIGHT CAN'T HURT ANYONE.)
The fishing is great and the creek runs right through the campground.
Goodale Creek is open between the months of March and October.
