Frank's Story

This was the first thing that I saw when I drove up to Frank's
old campsite:

Frank told me that one day when he returned from his daily coffee
and doughnut run into town, he saw a cloud of black smoke in the
distance. He remembered thinking: "Poor soul, must have lost
everything!" Not knowing that the "poor soul" was he himself.

Everything he owned was gone in a matter of minutes.
His computer, satelite TV system, his clothes and his houseware.
His greatest loss however were his books. Frank was interested in
Eastern Religions and over the years had accumulated an impressive
collection of books about this topic.

When I went to see him at his temporary shelter, a small trailer
and a makeshift tent as a shower, his spirit was far from broken
"Look-it," he said "I'm seventy five years old, in fairly good
health and I could have been asleep in my RV when it burned down."
His plans for the future? Take it slow, one day at the time.
